If your organisation has team members who work on the same hydraulic model at the same time, they probably generate several versions of the same model file. When this happens, keeping track of model file versions and model changes is next-to-impossible.

InfoWorks WS Pro’s workgroup technology offers multi-user access to your water models as well as model change management tools, that facilitate collaboration between modellers and improve your team productivity.

InfoWorks WS Pro maintains all model data into a single, centralised, and multi-user master database. It offers the following key capability:

  • Controlling model access

User permissions can be given to assign different levels of rights to users. This increases the productivity of any type of users, whether experienced or novice.

  • Multi-users editing and resolving model conflicts

Multiple modellers are able to edit the same object simultaneously. When they commit their changes, other users can quickly see what has been modified in the model. This encourages collaboration within modelling teams.

To manage conflict resolution easily, InfoWorks WS Pro identifies and prompt the user to resolve conflicts between changes to objects that have been committed by different users.

  • Reviewing audit trail of all model changes

Models are held in a version-controlled system, where users can view, compare, and edit older versions of the model or part of the model. And if something goes awry with your model modifications, you can always go back to an older version of the model.

To save space, only the differences between versions are stored in the database. Modellers can be confident that the integrity of the data is maintained.

  • Keeping track of the source of data changes

The ability to associate edited items in the model with data flags allows users to record the source of data within the model. And color-coded view of various changes in the model makes it easier and quicker for users to understand any model alteration. It is also much easier to review the modelling work of a single or multiple team members, when specific data entry or change needs to be checked.
